High Yield Savings Accounts Accelerate Financial Growth

Is this actually possible?
@ 20 invest $10,000 in the stock market/mutual fund every year add $10,000 keep going until your 65, or for 45 years reinvest all earnings in as well don't take anything out until your 65 historically the stock market has given a 10% return per year In theory you should have made about $8.5 million by the time you retire. and will make about $1 million a year if continued to invest and lived off of the interest. And you would have made all of this money just from investing a total of $460,000 http://www.moneychimp.com/calculator/compound_interest_calculator.htm To make $10,000 a year in which to invest... you would probably need to make over $60,000 (dual or single income) in order to do it safely, since half your income goes towards taxes, insurance, etc. 2/3 of the remainder goes towards necessities, and the rest is spending money/investing money.. Is this actually possible or is it just a dream.

Algebra 2 problemoo!?
mmkay babes heres the deal. I'm learning on how to use a chart abd see how money grows with simple interest and a credit-union account with compound interest. the initial value is $1,000.00 and have 8% simple interest and 8% compound interest. so for the simple interest, the chart goes: # of years Amount of $$$ 0 $1,000.00 1 $1,080.00 2 $1,160.00 3 $1,240.00 4 ________ so I figured out that the blank amount for the END OF 4 years was $1,320.00 because I added 80 to each amount every year. For the Credit-Union Account w/ Compound Interest # of years Amount of $$$ 0 $1,000.00 1 $1,080.00 2 $1,166.40 3 $1,259.71 4 ________ Then I found out that at the END OF the 4th year was $1,360.49 because I used a compund interest calculator (long story)... so basically I want to know how does money grow with simple interest and compund interest? andd , if there is a rule for the chart? the charts a little messed up, it's with the years and then the amount of money next to it.. by rule i mean equation, but you already knew that ;D
